IGNORING THE DIRECTIONS OF AN OFFICER

FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE DIRECTIONS OF AN OFFICER

A driver is guilty of failing to observe the directions of an officer if he does not comply with any direction given by a police officer or a traffic director when enforcing a provision of the Motor Vehicle Code. All directions given by a police officer, whether by voice or by hand, must be obeyed.

A driver who is convicted of failing to observe the directions of an officer may be subject to a fine of not more than $52. The fine is doubled in a construction zone. Upon conviction of failing to observe the directions of an officer, the driver will be assessed two points.
